Urgam village, in Uttarakhand’s Urgam valley near Joshimath, is surrounded by snow-capped Garhwal Himalaya peaks. Urgam village is located at 2100 metres above sea level and is surrounded by dense forests, farms, and apple orchards.

Urgam village is located in the Urgam valley, which is far removed from modern life and transports you to the natural world. Urgam village is famous for the Kalpeshwer temple, one of the ancient Shiva temples, and the Panch Kedar and famous Kalpeshwar Dham, which is only 2 kilometres away. Urgam Valley is also well-known for its natural and spiritual splendour.

This valley is situated between two V-shaped mountains. Urgam valley is also known for its natural wavy greenery, chandelier greenery farmland, and crops such as wheat, pear millet beans, and potatoes. The locals in this village/valley place a high value on environmental issues, and their efforts can be seen in well-kept gardens and the cleanliness of the surrounding areas.

Best Time to Visit Urgam Village

The summer season
Summer in Urgam village/valley lasts from April to June, with temperatures averaging around 15 degrees Celsius. June is slightly hotter than the month, and in the summer, when the sun emerges from behind the mountains, it is very beautiful and draws tourists to its own side.

The winter season
Because Urgam village/valley is located in the middle of the mountains, the atmosphere here is colder and winter lasts from October to February. The maximum atmosphere here is about 5* C and the minimum atmosphere is 0* C, and it is even more beautiful when surrounded by fog.

Monsoon 
The monsoon season in Urgam village, valley, begins between July and September. August has a wetter climate than the other months. The waterfall that falls from the mountains during the rainy season creates a very picturesque sight in the view and attracts tourists on their own side.

How to Reach Urgam Village

By air
If you want to go to Urgam by plane, the nearest airport is Jolly Grant in Dehradun, which is 133 kilometres away from Urgam village, and you can easily take a vehicle for Urgam village/valley trek.

Taking the train
If you prefer to travel by train, the nearest railway station is Haridwar, which is 136 kilometres from Urgam village/valley trek.

By road, Urgam village/valley is well connected, so you can take the bus and easily get any vehicle from Joshimath, Chamoli, and Karanprayag bus stations, and you can also enjoy hilly paths.
