Best Time to Visit Chaukori

The months of April to June are considered ideal for visiting Chaukori. During these months, the weather is pleasant and ideal for sightseeing and other outdoor activities. Summers

The season lasts from April to the beginning of July. The temperature remains moderate, ranging from 19°C to 25°C. Summer is the best season for enjoying leisure activities in the city. During the summer, the weather is ideal for sightseeing tours and other outdoor activities.

Monsoon

Explore the wildlife habitat of the endangered musk deer and other bird species at Askot Sanctuary. Trekking to the Pindari glacier is another option for your Chaukori vacation. 1. Kapileshwar Mahadev Temple

The temple is located in Saur Valley, which is located in the Pithoragarh villages of Takura and Takari. The holy shrine is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is housed within a 10-meter-dark cave.

2. Mahakali Temple 

The temple is dedicated to Goddess Kalika and is set in a dense deodar forest. Furthermore, it is located in Gangolihat, which is 36 kilometers from Chaukori.

3. Nag Mandir

Nag Mandir, located in Berinag village, is only 12 kilometers from Chaukori. There is numerous naga (snake) temples in the area. The village is surrounded by a dense forest.

4. Ghunsera Devi Temple

Ghunsera Cave is located beneath it. The stone images of various goddesses, erected by the Khol Kings of Kartikeya Pura, are the main attractions here.

5. Arjuneshwar Temple

This temple is also well-known for its devotion to Lord Shiva. The temple is thought to have been built by the Pandavas and is named after Arjuna. It is located at an elevation of 6000 feet in the Pithoragarh district.

How to Reach Chaukori

Chaukori is well-connected by all three modes of transportation; however, the most convenient way to get here is to take a train to Kathgodam and then hire a cab.

By Air

The closest domestic airport to Chaukori is Pithoragarh’s Naini Saini Airport. Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun is the next closest airport to Chaukori.

By Train

The nearest railway station to Chaukori is Kathgodam Railway Station. It is linked to major cities such as Lucknow, Delhi, and Kolkata. To get to Chaukori, take a taxi from here. Tanakpur railway station, located 174 kilometers from the town, is the second closest railway station.

By Road

The nearest bus station to Chaukori is Kathgodam. Taxis and buses are available from major cities such as Almora, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Kausani, and Didihat. There are also state-run buses from Almora and Kausani to Chaukori.
