Uttarakhand’s highest single-day spike of Covid-19

According to data from the Union health ministry, India reported 1,17,100 new Covid-19 cases on Friday, the highest number since early June, while active cases increased to 3,71,363.  

On Thursday, Uttarakhand reported 630 Covid cases, the most in a single day in seven months, and three deaths as a result of the pandemic. On June 4, 2021, there were 892 instances recorded in Uttarakhand.

According to the Covid control room here, Dehradun district led the Thursday tally with 268 instances, followed by Haridwar with 119, Nainital with 85, Pauri with 72, and Udham Singh Nagar with 35.

For the past several days, the Covid trajectory in Uttarakhand has been on the rise, with more than 100 new cases recorded everyday.
